This small Carr's Biscuit tin has a hinged lid. The top and all four sides have the Carr's name printed in blue on an orange-red background and the lid has a decorative gold border. The base is stamped "Carr's Biscuits, Carlisle England. Sample" and this is probably a salesman's sample tin to show prospective shopkeepers.
The tin dates from the 1920's - 30's and is in very good vintage condition for its age. The exterior has bright colours and clear print with just one scratch to the lid and a few marks to the sides. There are a couple of little dents but the lid opens and closes and the hinges are good. Inside is marked with some discoloured patches and a few rust spots but is solid.
