Marian Mahler Fabric - Original Piece - 50cm x 63cm - Greek Temples

An original piece of fabric designed by Marian Mahler for David Whitehead - 1953.

This is a piece of Rayon fabric designed in 1953 by Marian Mahler for the David Whitehead company. The colours are bright and the fabric is undamaged.

Temple shapes with different contents appear on a pale green backdrop in rows. These are interspersed with lines and circles in contrasting colours. This is one of the Mahler designs that was included in the Festival of Britain display and then on the tour. There are three rows of images on this fragment which would look fabulous framed up and preserved as a piece of art.
