Vintage School Print - Fairies by Eileen Soper

These vintage school prints by Eileen Soper for Enid Blyton are beautiful and nostalgic, with soft colours and detailed portrayals of the natural world.

Number 44 - The Birthday Party

This is a print tthat is full of fairy magic. Fairies, elves and gnomes have gathered under the stars to enjoy cake and other fairy food. The use mushrooms for stools and tables and drink a toast from acorn cups. Perfect. This is still an educational poster though, with accurate drawings of funghi in the foreground. It's number 44 of Blyton's Nature Prints for schools that were available in the 1950's. Eileen Soper's signature is visible in the bottom right of the print. Some of these prints have slightly odd titles! This is because they were each linked to an Enid Blyton story that the teacher read to the class. The titles are taken from the stories.

There is a thick black border around the print and the condition within it is very good. The colours are bright and clear and there are no tears or creases. There are a few season themed prints all with characters from the stories, they look lovely framed up and displayed together. Head to the shop for more.
