1930's Christmas Decorations - Santa with Lantern

This fabulous figure is handmade and dates from the 1930's. His body is wire wrapped in crepe paper which is twisted to form his hat. His head is Balsa wood and hand painted. The lantern is a large card and paper affair and in excellent condition.

He may have had some greenery attached to him at some point as there are a few sprigs left on his jacket. He measures about 9cm in height.

This vintage Christmas figure, and most of the others from the same era, came from a family collection.
