1930's Fairy Cotton - 55cm x 40cm

This vintage fabric dates from the 1930's and is filled with fairies,  gnomes and woodland creatures. There are lots of different scenes scattered across the white background. We see a gnome painting a butterfly's wing, some ladybirds paying a call on a toadstool house and flower fairies gossiping together. In between are tall Hollyhocks and Bluebells.

This is a reclaimed vintage fabric and it's around 80 years old so there are a few foxing marks dotted about and a small tear - see last picture. Given the age of this cotton, they are really not too bad at all and don't detract from the beauty of this fabric. The colours are soft but still bright and the cotton is strong.

This is a perfect vintage cotton to feature as the centrepiece of a quilt or cushion or frame it up for a child's bedroom.
