1983 Postman Pat Cotton - Metre Lengths

This Postman Pat fabric was produced in 1983 for the BBC. It's 100% cotton with the copyright mark and is filled with scenes from the early animated series. This is a full width, vintage cotton with selvedges to both sides. It is getting harder to find these days.

This colour version has the characters printed on to an off-white background. Pat, Ted Glen, Mrs Goggins and Jess the Cat are just some of the regulars who make an appearence. The colours are more muted than previous versions that I've sold but, having checked one of the turned up hems, I can see this is the original colour scheme and not a fade.

This Postman Pat fabric is a reclaimed cotton and not in bad condition for its 30 plus years. There is some gentle pilling, the occasional tumble dryer mark and some minor damage to the edges but other than that, it's all good. The cotton is strong and there are no marks. It's a good weight for any project and the vertical repeat is 62cm. There is a neat hem to the bottom which could be unpicked
